Big Week
I've been collecting for a long LONG time now. It's not an uncommon hobby. In fact, many of you may fancy yourselves collectors. I know that I've gotten e-mails from at least some of you telling me about your comics, movies, origami, etc . . . So, it's not just me. And like you collectors out there commenting on these entries, I've never really gotten much attention because of my hobby.
It makes sense. Collecting is pretty much interesting to ONLY those who happen to care about the specific theme of your collection. The average person would find someone's book of stamps boring. A regular Joe would look at filing cabinets full of bagged and backed comics as a waste of money. Sally Q. Public could care less about my father-in-law's original set of Crack in the World lobby cards.
That's just something we collectors come to expect.
So, imagine my surprise upon waking up this morning and realizing I had over 700 comments on one entry! I know that this goes beyond my collections. The Hanso Foundation seems like a very real threat and people CARE. But still, 700 is INSANE! Insane in a good way of course. Well, mostly in a good way. There were a few . . . trouble makers.
Guys, gals, I love each and every one of you. But inappropriate posting leads to hate. Anger leads to hate. Hate . . . leads to moderating.
And we don't want that.
If you happen to be commenting and someone posts something you think is inappropriate, ignore them and e-mail me with the time stamp of the comment. I will take care of it.
But I don't want to take the attention away from those of you who have done nothing but rock in the comments. I want to say thank you to those of you who have kept your disagreements civil. I have respect for that.
I know things have gotten a bit frustrating lately, but it's all for P's cause. Be patient and I'm sure we'll get more from her soon. Also, we've got a new DJ Dan coming up, right? We still haven't figured out if he's here to help, or to throw us off. Has any new evidence on him surfaced?
And on top of both of those things, we have not only Hugh on Kimmel this Wednesday, but the season finale of LOST. Every week for the past three weeks we've had a commercial that linked to a new sponsored website. Will we get yet another this week?
All in all it's a big week. Keep on hunting, commenting and e-mailing.
Until next time.

Peace

More importantly than piece perhaps...Speaker are you insinuating that their is new evidence to be found on the DJ Dan site?
Posted by: Daniel | May 23, 2006 at 09:36 AM
oh speaker, than you for the words of wisdom...
Posted by: open sphere | May 23, 2006 at 09:36 AM
Very sneaky, Speaker.
Bringing up the ad thing and the DjDAN site... As if we don't know that there's a new Verizon ad banner on it or something...
Thanks for confirming where the new clue will be coming from.

Since the dawn of time, man has been curious... about why people write lame posts!
Posted by: joshypoo | May 23, 2006 at 09:38 AM
Alright, I'm up on everything else, but I jumped in the game about a week late, and I don't get the DJDan stuff. Can someone break it down into Big Bird terms for me? This last clue's fried my brain.

Archaic, a while back a url was found in the Hanso source code... www.djdan.am
It's "in-game".
Go there... You'll notice the banners on the different pages are of ads that have been part of the game. There's one there that we haven't seen an ad for during the show yet. (Is that proper English?)
Posted by: vexingmodstwo | May 23, 2006 at 09:44 AM
Thanks, vex. I made sure I read all the comments before posting (like everyone should do), I just couldn't wrap my mind around its commection. Obliged.
Posted by: ArchaicDome | May 23, 2006 at 09:45 AM
ummm... the URL for djdan.am is still on the hanso website source code. I'm not sure whether it's been there the whole time or if it was removed and then added again.

has anyone noticed the password on the letyourcompassguide you website? I think it's new. Not sure where it goes...it appears near the 108 degree mark.

Speaker - impressive handling of the chaos of the hole2 comments. I do hope the visitors here heed the warning and show some respect, even in disagreement. I am really enjoying the lost experience as an extension of the show, and inappropriate behaviour tends to ruin the fun.

Speaker, thanks for your post. Good to see you're handling the extra attention and chaos with aplomb.
Regarding the topic of collecting, may I ask: What do you think the Hanso Foundation is collecting? (Besides interesting personalities, of course.)

I cant see any advertising banners on the djdan site. In fact all his links have vanished too.

Speaker mentions "Crack in the World"
Here is a summary of the movie:
Dr. Steven Sorenson (Andrews) plans to tap the geothermal energy of the Earth's interior by means of a thermonuclear device detonated deep within the Earth. Despite dire warnings by fellow scientist Ted Rampian (Moore), Dr Sorenson proceeds with the experiment after secretly learning that he is terminally ill. This experiment causes a crack to form and grow within the earth's crust, which threatens to split the earth in two if it is not stopped in time.
Interesting.... sounds a little familiar....

I think the verizon ad is pretty new. I was on the djdan site this morning and it wasn't there then.

I have that same problem at home... I don't know why, but I don't see the ads on my home computer... I see them at work though.

Just a note: anger leads to hate, not the other way around. :)
*Speaker note - oops! embarased I am.*

ET, thanks for the film synopsis! Hmmm...sounds like the duality we all know and love. Magnetic energy could do the same thing, maybe? Opposite energy at both poles could cause them to repel?

Hey Grapes the code reads "DI 9FFTR 731" and I think it goes back to hatch . . .
Posted by: DR | May 23, 2006 at 10:20 AM
I think the picture is Hugh and the words in his hair say "I'm in NY." I remember that was a theory on either this side or insidetheexperience.com. Jimmy tapes in NY, so it was a clue to him being on the show maybe? Just a thought (hopefully one that will make us all a little less crazy).
Posted by: Lostie | May 23, 2006 at 10:20 AM
That makes sense . . . Thanks!
Hey has everyone seen these videos on Your tube from the HANSO foundation (http://www.youtube.com/results?search=Hanso). . . there is one that shows you all the logos for DHARMA and what they study . . . What was the logo on the Hatch that "the others" were guarding?

Thanks Speaker... But more importantly, you're married? I'm crushed.
Posted by: lindasue | May 23, 2006 at 10:27 AM
Some interesting images of the Speaker's father-in-law's (he's married?) Crack in the World lobby cards (ie movie posters). Interesting images, don't you think?

Speaker, you underlined Crack in the World in your post, is that just because it's a movie title?
Posted by: Brain | May 23, 2006 at 10:34 AM
I have a poster from Crack In The World, and the movie is about an atomic bomb splitting the earth.
