Week One Round-Up
A lot of new people are discovering the odd things happening at the Hanso website and a lot of those people are making their way here.
Who am I? Well, I've stated that already in an old entry, but there's also an "about" button over there on the right. I don't want to bore the people who've heard my background a few times already. Let's just say we all have similar interests.
Which brings us back to the odd happenings at the Hanso site. There have been a lot of things documented there and people are getting confused as to what is and what is not known. So, if you'd like a list of what's discovered, click below:
(ps - Hanso link is fixed - that's what happens when you post near three in the a.m.)
Just over a week ago, the Hanso Foundation issued a press release announcing their intentions to launch a new advertising campaign.
Last Wednesday the campaign launched during the television show LOST. It linked to their website and also gave a phone number -
1-877-HANSORG
When you call the number, you are greeted by a voice message system. Give it a ring to hear ALL of the options. Some strange things happen on some of them.
At the same time, strange things were also happening on the website. If you went to the "Newsletter" section and signed up for one, it would ask for a password. Upon entering the words "breaking strain," (you get it from the phone call) a woman named Persephone hijacks your browser and gives you a message.
Once you've received your message from Persephone, you can safely leave Joop a message without it just timing out on you. Leave any message and Joop will scream at you. Your browser will then become the nebula of dots you see to your left. Connect the dots, and you'll get another clue to the Hanso Foundation's seedy underbelly.
Then, if you click on "Active Projects," then "World Wellness and
Prevention Development Program" and then "World Map," you'll get something else that's pretty cool.
Mess around with the map; eventually you'll get this weird image to the right. (Thanks to Vik and annahitch for the caps!) Try converting the numbers to letters on this one.
Then, at the end of last week, Hugh McIntyre put out another press release. This one stated that they know about the problems with the site and that they're working to get them fixed. It also had this link hidden in the PDF file.
The site had a list of numbers that roughly translated to "Check out the website on the 6th!"
Sunday, the numbers changed. They roughly translated to, "Scratch that, make that the 8th!"
On the 8th, the date under Alvar Hanso's bio in the "Executive Bios" section was suddenly underlined. Now, when you click on it, you get more messages from Persephone. We are still unclear as to her identity or what her connection to the Hanso foundation is - but she seems to be onto several things.
She questions whether or not Alvar is still running his foundation as he's not been seen since 2002 - at least in public.
After her message, there is some Morse code. There is some debate over the exact letters, but most seem to agree on "Safe G" . . . whatever THAT means.
Not long after, the Hanso Foundation took out ads against Gary Troup. Gary Troup is a well-known author who has written many books. His most controversial work is the out of print and impossible to find "Valenzetti Equation."
The book that HF is taking issue with now, though, is Bad Twin. Gary used a lot of real life corporations in his book, including Hanso AND Widmore.
Which brings us almost up to date. There's one more recent oddity. The clock on the Hanso site will randomly change to say "OB:EY." If you click on it, it would take you to a strange site.
The site has six television sets on it. One of the sets is clickable. If you click it FOUR times, the sets will rotate. You have to click the second set EIGHT times. You continue on through each of the LOST until it gives you a password.
This password is entered at Dr. Mittelwerk's bio. You then get yet ANOTHER message from Persephone.
And that's pretty much most of the excitement that's happened over the past week. Okay, so it's not every tiny press release, no. But basically that's it, yeah.
My UK and AU "mates" and I are doing our best to keep up with this, so keep an eye on us.
And thanks to everyone for the e-mails and comments. They ARE much appreciated.
Until next time.

"She questions whether or not Alvar is still running his foundation as he's not been seen since 2002 - at least in public."
Speaking of which: Is the "01.01.2001" date-stamp on Hanso's travel itinerary as rolled out by Persephone a typo or not?

I have noticed that after watching the "Life Feed" of Joop, a strange black face will appear after some time. I thought it was a fluke at first, but it is definately something to look into now that I have watched it a few times. Perhaps it is Walt?

When at Joops webcam, if you just watch it awhile you will see an evil face. Has anyone else seen it.

The link to the Hanso site is incorrect -- you have .com instead of .org.
This also is my quandry as I don't seem to be able to connect to the Hanso site at all. Not sure why ...

Goddamn, this is all so bloody confusing

I have a bad feeling that the "subLYMONal" site is actually going to turn into a big Sprite soft drink ad. We shall see...

The first link at the top is wrong? It points to http://www.thehansofoundation.com/ which is a dead end... the link to the right points to http://www.thehansofoundation.org/

what about the other areas of logins.. will we be getting passwords for those?: executive bios, and the one on the bottom of the page when you click show all ?
Posted by: nicole | May 11, 2006 at 06:43 AM
why does the word "miracle" in the press release seem to lead to a link but nothing happens when you click it?
Posted by: karenapc97 | May 11, 2006 at 06:50 AM
When the clock turns to OB:EY and you click on it... right before you are taken to the other site, the clock changes to 21:12. I haven't seen any mention of that... wonder if it means anything.

If you print the page that shows Joop's live feed, it reveals the picture of a man that looks like the 'doctor' (?) on the Mental Health Appeal page.

Looks like someone has hacked the site

Personally I think the "face" that you see when looking at Joop's webcame is that of a gorilla.

[http://thelostexperienceclues.blogspot.com/] has a really good discussion going on, you might want to check it out. some people are wondering why would THF put the sublymonal site on their tv ad???? i personally think that Alvar either has a twin or a clone and that's why the dates look funny, no time travel going on i don't think...

I have found a refrence to the phrase "HIC SUNT DRACONES" on the black light map. It has been linked to old english map makers...how they marked the unknowen or the edge of the earth. It then also refers to people know as "Dagtoian" these people feast on the dead and pick there bones. Now just looking for how this relates to that part of the island.

Every thing about Lost is pretty, kewl, But the 'subLYMONal thing is kind of strange, the OBEY word is just a Sprite ad, remember all of this is fiction and ABC is just a TV network who wants to make money out of Us, that's why a LYMON.com ine the sublymonal.com. I found that really disappointing but i'm not suprise.

Go to the hanso website
In the sign up for newsletter section, pick any screen name, answer yes then type password "breaking strain"
Then, go to the executive bios section, then Dr. Thomas...enter password Heir Apparent,
click enter. you see a portal with awoman in it. click the woman, then you see a Caltech record and a crazy note.
Go to Joop's corner, then to "talk to Joop" type anything, I typed Where's joop? There is a map-like thing -
any circle that pops up, just click on it. Eventually, you see a red circle in the center. click on that.
Then you see an amazing letter possibly telling us why they are there and where they are!

Has anyone looked at the page source for the rss feed? Whenever there is a mention of Joop there is also another name: 'Joop the Orangutans 105th birthday.'

Like everyone else, I too have become pretty addicted to the whole Lost adventure. Kudos to the creative people at ABC, Bad Robot and all the writers, creators and actors of the entire Lost "Experience. And by design it is just that. An experience.
Lost is producing so many twist and turns with its storyline that a TV show alone can’t contain the story. Now there is a book and interactive websites that keep fans locked into the plot not just for the 60 minutes once a week, but for the days and soon months in between episodes. As long as the creative executives associated with Lost pace themselves and don’t flood the fans with too much overload and marketing hooks the show stands to go down in history and the most encompassing and engaging fictional mystery experience of all time. Not to mention profitable as well!
While the storyline is fictional (can we be sure? ;- ) ) I sometimes fall into the trap that the Hanso Foundation, Gary Troup and other Lost related entities are actually real based upon their presentation to us. All in all, we jut need to be patient and enjoy all the little clues that are building into something larger. Who knows, maybe next year at this time we’ll all be reading John Locke’s Guide to Wilderness Survival, buying Joop stuffed animals or listening to Hanso’s new alternative rock station on satellite radio for more clues.
BTW: the site: http://thelostexperience.com/ is also a great site to follow along with the whole Lost "Experience" and Hanso website.

on the Joop page, has anyone else noticed that you can type text under the green Joops Corner title. Has anyone figured out what this leads to and what is best to type in this space?

In response to the last post, click on the signature at the bottom of the letter and there will be another letter written in response to the first letter. After reading that there will be a red underline, click on that and there is another message there.
