Week Three Round-Up
Before the round-ups, check out Ninja for how to get the clip of Hugh McIntyre on Kimmel last night. I don't know about you, but I felt like he was lying every step of the way - he has a lot of tells.
Now, for the week-in-review. Every day I get new people stumbling onto my notes. And every day these same people discover that there's much more to the *ahem* "benevolent" Hanso Foundation.
If you've been keeping up, this will be very redundant for you. But if you're just checking in sporadically, check this entry out. If you're literally JUST joining us, you might want to check out my Week One Round-Up and my Week Two Round-Up.
All caught up? Good.
Now on to Week Three:
This week has probably been one of the most controversial weeks. We got a new message from P on Thursday that translated to "A mouse does not rely on just one hole." People scratched their heads over this one.
And that's when P struck again - this time against Peter Thompson. Letters flashed across his picture, and if you were fast and or good with anagrams you'd see that it was trying to spell "survivor guilt."
Just under Thompson's picture was an invisible text field. Type in "survivor guilt" and let P whisk you away to a world of corruption!
It wasn't until Monday that someone found the answer to Thursday's riddle - the excedingly frustrating Hole2. On the surface it looks like just a blank face. There is definitely more there, but what? Some people see words, others pictures, and even others still think we need another image before we can get its message. And then there are those who thinks the answer lies in the file name, "q9als2002."
What's the answer? Sorry, but my hands are tied if I don't want to anger my source. And no, I'm not sure of his/her motivations - but we've since unlocked another message from P, so I don't think it's key to a more important message, at least not yet.
People banged their heads over Hole2 all the way up until yesterday when P decided to offer up some more dirt - this time on the Board of Directors. A new site popped up both on commercials and on the Hanso site itself. Several careers would pop up when you searched, and within the results there were numerous gray letters. They turned out to be an anagram for "inmate asylum."
On the BoD page there is a field for both user name and password. Only the password matters. Put "inmate asylum" with a space as the password and P reveals things in even more creative ways.
But then we saw that P wasn't the only one with the ability to speak to the public. Last night on Jimmy
Kimmel Live, Hugh McIntyre made an appearance via Sattellite claiming that P was lying and that Gary Troup and LOST are maliciously draggin the Hanso Foundation's name through the mud. He said that Dharma was a real project, but funding was cut in 1987.
I personally think he's lying. But, at this point, anything is possible.
And that was week three. If you have any problems or questions, please email me.
Until next time.

Folks, pleasseeeeee read the roundups before posting, unless you know that you are caught up...

I believe a word McIntyre said on Kimmel last night. He claims that the picture on the Hanso site was of his predacessor, that would explain the why he doesn't look like the pic. But I don't think he sounds like the guy on the Hanso phone line claiming to be McIntyre or is that my imagination?

I thought it was "mental asylum"...d'oh

"so I don't think it's key to a more important message, at least not yet."
i guess we don't have the tools to decipher that one yet. perhaps we'll get another image at some point..?

Crap, typo.
Insert "don't" after I

I think in ,ARG world, that the Hanso Foundation hired an actor to play the role of Hugh on Jimmy Kimmel to discredit the info we recieved from Persephone. That would be a good explanation of why he stumbled over his words and not that the guy they picked to play the part wasn't actually familiar with the material....

I read something on wikipedia.. does anyone know any more about this?
23 May 2006
During live coverage of Channel 4's Big Brother 7, on it's E4 channel, the audio feed of the housemates was occasionally replaced by a female voice over which described events from the second season of Lost.

So you're saying Hugh on Jimmy Kimmel was an actor playing an actor playing Hugh? That's an interesting thought actually, I like it!

SPEAKER,,, thanks for a concise explaining of the inmate asylum password.... hope the finale is worth the wait (yes am still annoyed about the wait) can you have a word with Mr's Abrams Cuse and Lindelof about bringing forward the DVD release.

I was disappointed with the Kimmell interview. And those 2 lab people milling around in the back just irked the heck out of me.
Posted by: Mindy | May 25, 2006 at 11:05 AM
I know what you mean Mindy. I think I was paying more attention to them than Hugh :)
Posted by: Brian | May 25, 2006 at 11:06 AM
Yeah, That's what I'm saying
Posted by: Brian | May 25, 2006 at 11:06 AM
I just think that the makers of the Game weren't well prepared with the Hugh interview. They had to come up with some sort of answer quickly as to why "Hugh" didn't look like the original getty stock photo. I think in the future they will be more prepared, seeing how that didn't go so well. I think we take his answer (that it was his predeccesor's pic left up on the site) for what it is and move forward.

Porcupine, going for a little identity theft there?
Posted by: Brian | May 25, 2006 at 11:07 AM
I think we just made the same weird mistake there, brian. English, Why bother having it be Hugh that they had on the show. It could have been any representative of the Hanso Foundation. We wouldn't have had a clue what they looked like.

Posted by: Porcupine | May 25, 2006 at 11:10 AM
hahahahaha I did it too and didnt even realize it. sorry about that!
Anyways, Lost in SF agreed with me on the other board, though I don't have it TIVO'd that the foot was wearing a sort of Greco Roman style sandal.
Posted by: Brian | May 25, 2006 at 11:12 AM
I looked like I was responding to my own theory there for a second
Posted by: Porcupine | May 25, 2006 at 11:12 AM
So true Porcupine....
We're a little LOST as far his identity goes.
Posted by: Lost in SF | May 25, 2006 at 11:12 AM

Posted by: Brian | May 25, 2006 at 11:14 AM
I'm going to run and do some errands. See you all later. : )
Posted by: Porcupine | May 25, 2006 at 11:15 AM
Hey! I aint stealin nuthin :-P
I havent watched the interview yet, had to tape it, but several people have noted Hugh was fidgeting quite obviously with his hands. After the whole Candle/Wick paralyzed arm thing I have a feeling that may be telling later...
