Week Six Round-Up
Good afternoon, Nation.
It's Thursday. I never could get the hang of Thursdays. But one thing that Thursday always brings us is the beginning of a new week. And we always celebrate that beginning with a wrap-up of the old week.
If you're curious, here are my previous wrap-ups:
All caught up? Good.
If you've been keeping up, this may be a bit redundant. But if you're behind AT ALL, this is the entry for you. Click below for Week Six:
It's a little quiet right now, but Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday were filled to the brim. If you don't believe me, read back to the entries before this one. Every one broke 1000 comments, and several got near 2000. Brains were a-workin'.
Monday started off with quite a stir after we got several clues. We first recieved new numbers from P that translated to, "+1 Timeless Together." From that, we postulated that there must be a hole4, which there was. AND the Mental Health page updated.
Though, there was one problem - no one could figure out the password to the Mental Health page.
People tried overlaying the hole images, everything. By midnight, many gave up assuming we needed more to get the password. But that was far from the truth, as someone figured it out the next day - not by decompiling the flash or anything like that, but by taking in all the clues from both P and the community around her. This was the method:
You take the names of all the hole pics:
q9als2002
t9agen75
u8egnce86
P's clue was "Timeless Together," so remove the years from the end of each file-name - 2002/75/86.
From there, we put the password in the "Inquire Today" box. Clicking send showed us a letter about teh VIK institute and allowed us to play a Simon Says game to find out what DHARMA stands for.Department of Heuristics And Research on Material Applications.
Interesting stuff.
Then, that SAME day - the Electromagnetic Research Initiative page updated.
If you clicked on the picture in the middle of the page, you were given a password box. Because of several different clues, including a magic-eye picture that said "conspira" when you looked at it long enough, people quickly figured out that the password was "conspiraspies." This hack is where most of the pictures in today's entry come from. Thanks VERY much to Vik from Sydney for the screen captures. They are much appreciated.
Then, on Wednesday, the new DJ Dan podcast finally appeared. This was after two days of wild goose chases because we all thought it was uploaded. But like I said, Dan's assistants try to get them up as quickly as possible, but I bet they're under scrutiny from the man. Life on the run doesn't always happen on schedule. Some very interesting theories are brought up on the podcast, but we still don't know if Dan is paranoid because he's crazy, or paranoid because they're really after him.
Well, that's pretty much the week as it happened.Tomorrow will, of course, be Reader Mail. So if you have any burning questions - GET THEM IN! And make them interesting. The life of that segment is only as long as the amount of funny e-mails I get!
Kidding, of course. Serious e-mails are appreciated also. Thanks for being you and until next time.

that white outline is not on purpose - trying to fix.

Josh - I doubt today also - but it would certainly suck if the week ended without at least ONE more, right? I certainly would be bummed.
Amlocke - true . . . I did!
Okay . . . sorry, citizens - busy day for the Speaker . . . I gotta head out again, if anyone posts as me within the next three hours - t'aint me!

Hey Speaker. Long-time-no-see. LOL. So when do you think a new clue will crop up?
Posted by: ZinkMan | June 15, 2006 at 01:05 PM
Mr. Forsty,
You make a great point...yet the Speaker and Persephone are making us look for Hanso. Why Hanso?
If we were looking for the people on the Island would the DeGroots be a much better target?
But no...that is why I believe this "Game is not a "Game," but rather something much more sinister.

Well. We now have a new name. We are The Nation, or perhaps just Nation. I got that from Speaker's first written line today.
Feel free to use it any time.
