ITE Profiles #2
Good afternoon, Nation. And welcome to the second edition of ITE profiles.
For more information on what this is, check out:
Today is MY pick, so click below to see who it is:
My second victim (who is the first Speaker pick) is someone you ALL know for his attention to detail and amazing map making skillz with a "z."

The other day I sat down with this mustachioed gent and discussed what makes him tick.
SPEAKER: Okay, Jonah...
Ready for the hard questions?
JONAH: Engage...
SPEAKER: Last week I asked FOX why he chose his on-line moniker and he gave me a rather... interesting... explanation.
So, same question to you - Why JONAH?
JONAH: Uh... That's my name...
It's rather unique, so not many other people have it.
SPEAKER: Really?
That's it?
It's your NAME?
JONAH: Uh, yeah.
SPEAKER: Anyway you can SPICE it up some? You know... for the audience?
JONAH: Well - I used to have a few nicknames...
Smokey was my nickname in college, then it was Shadow.
Smokey 'cause I used to always have a cig lit. But I quit two years ago.
Shadow because I was always where everyone was, like a shadow.
But both of those are popular monikers... so I defaulted.
SPEAKER: Still, that's sexier than "It's my name."
Moving on....
People know you for "THE MAP." (And what a map it is!) What inspired you?
JONAH: I make maps for a living. I really like what I do, so I had to combine LOST and what I do into a super power of awesomeness times infinity.
SPEAKER: That's very interesting.
I'm sure you went to college for your job, but what was it that attracted you to LOST in the first place.
JONAH: As a padawan in all things cool...
Just kidding.
I'm always up for something new, interesting, and challenging. LOST delivered.
I had never heard of it until the first episode was on. I had never seen a season premiere like that.
I was captivated.
SPEAKER: We all were.
Is your deep love of the show, and specifically the propaganda spreading producers, the reason you HATE... Rachel Blake?
JONAH: I hate her???
Okay yeah... I hate her??
I won't be easily swayed. Rachel rules. There is a bit of Rachel in all of us, eh?
Everyone who has ever wanted to stand up for anything evil - be it Hanso, Nega-Speaker, or Thomas Weiner Mittelwerk - can share in her journey.
And for that we should all be thankful.
SPEAKER: Wait, I'm confused.
You gave a list of ALL her locations. All Hanso has to do to find her is to study your map, and use some "triangulation formula." So you obviously feel SOME sort of ill will towards her.
JONAH: You found me out. I work for Hanso.
This message will terminate in 5...
4...
3...
2...
1...
...Really, I'm on her trail like everyone else here.
I suppose they could check yer round-ups, eh?
SPEAKER: Touché, only I didn't draw a friggin' MAP!
Don't worry, you've just been NAILED by Speaker. It happens to the best of the best.
And that's all the time we have for today. I'd like to thank Jonah for joining me. I had a lot of fun.
And to all of you out there reading right now, you can see more of Jonah at his MySpace here. In last week's profile, there was a clue on Fox's page. There is NOT one on Jonah's... YET. The awesome person who's helping me with my scavenger hunt had a computer melt down, but as soon as I get the next item to hide, I'll let you know. (you can probably guess where the first clue will be.) Again, it's not a glyph but a distraction until the next glyph comes out.
Thanks again.
Until next time.

saweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!!

Wow. Who knew that all it would take for a bunch of hardcore internet geeks (hey, that's not an insult, I'm one as well!) to forget about chasing glyphs was.. candy bars?
Wow, we're kind of sad, aren't we? :D :j

There was an advertisement for Jeep on the page next to Speaker's article in my People magazine. The background of the ad was black but I could tell there was some writing at the bottom of the page. It was hard to read because the font color was close to black. When I took a closer look I realized that it said "letyourcompassguideyou.com". Could this be where the next glyph is found?

Why is that anonymous person posting what I said on TLEC?
Except for the last sentence, that is. That part they added. Is Lostpedian being a troll again?

add my thoughts to those hoping it's benign, PD

Very sad news. My friends mother has 3 years in remission and it more active, positive, and lively than she was before.
All there is to do is Fight!
As my father would say, grab a root and growl.
Posted by: Triskele | August 23, 2006 at 03:01 PM
Thanks, Monte.
The bonus here is that I work for an oncologist, so if it's not benign, I know the best is on her team.
