Week One Round-Up
I briefly considered titling this "Week Twenty One Round-Up", but feared the mass confusion it might cause. Anyway, we're not here to discuss alternate titles. (I'll save that for the commentary track!) We're here to FIND 815! (See what I did there?)
What do we know so far?
Well, Oceanic Air is back in business! ( I can has airline?)
Stuff started brewing on the very last day of 2007. And while we were all lighting fireworks and bringing in the New Year, someone hacked (wow, it feels so good to use that word again!) the new Oceanic commercials, pointing us to Find 815.com.
Though this was no Rachel! (Not nearly as pretty, if ya ask me!) This was a bloke named Sam Thomas. He's from Oz (Lost Ninja doesn't know him. I asked, but he informed me that Australia is much bigger than I give it credit for and he did NOT go to high school with everyone in the bloody country.) and he's looking for his fiancé who was lost on Flight 815. The problem is... no one else is.
Though, his viral efforts aren't for nothing. His publicity got him a mysterious contact who sent him a picture of his lady friend with clues in it. (Or would that be, "ON it?") The clues are as follows:
Black Rock (We just can't get rid of this thing!)
Christiane 1
Sunda Trench
Tell no one - grave consequences
Sam researches the Sunda Trench and finds out that it has an... interesting reputation. He also discovers that the "Christiane 1" is a ship. He heads to Jakarta to board it.
This is, of course, only the bare bones of what has happened so far. There are more clues and e-mails and all sorts of things. Danny Cerberus was nice enough to post a video presentation of what's happened so far and Jonah was cool enough to map out the journey once again, but I highly suggest you check out Sam's sites as well.
Also - keep an eye out. We've seen websites but also television commercials and billboards... it seems Sam's little adventure is spilling out of the web and into almost everything.
And now that that's out of the way, onto another matter. I'm considering doing Reader Mail again...
NO PROMISES!
But if I get enough questions via e-mail (speaker815 @ gmail dot com) then I may just HAVE to answer them. If you DO decide to e-mail me questions, then please make the subject "ITE Reader Mail" because that account has been inundated with spam recently and I want to make sure I don't accidentally delete your loverly questions!
Enjoy your Monday (groan!) everybody!
Until next time...

Note - I'll probably try to do these BEFORE Monday hits in the future.
I was just a slacker this weekend.

Well, I'm in Boston this week and have not located any Oceanic Airlines billboards (and I was looking when I landed).
I also haven't found Rachel Blake here, even though I'm always looking for her too...
So reader mail is back, huh? I may have some questions/thoughts for you there, Speaker ;)

Ok, now my progress says I have an incomplete activity plus an unread email. Im pretty sure Ive done everything and all the emails have been opened. Is this happening for anyone else?
Posted by: bellydancer | January 07, 2008 at 09:49 AM
15! That number seems familiar for some reason...
make sure you've read all of the Sent e-mails as well as those in the inbox. also suggest that you sit through chapters 1 and 2 again to make sure the activities are actually recorded.

Last sent item is "another Favor", last received is "Termination of Employment". It says 1 unread, 10 total but I only have 9 emails...
Posted by: bellydancer | January 07, 2008 at 10:05 AM
belly,
The newest sent e-mail (to Tracey) went ou t last night.
It is first 'part' of Chapter Two.
As soon as the Chapter starts you'll need to click it again to activate it in the chapter progress. It can`t be `read` until the block is available in the Chapter two summary and it can be logged by the site.
Then the e-mail will read Unread 00 Total 11.
P.S. Watch for a new Sam`s Desk too. It will be in his cabin on the Christiane I and will have alot of ther items you packed in the knapsack.
Cheers

well I broke my leg last night so I'm laying here doped up on vitamin V and trying to keep my eyes open a little bit- is it just me or did the response to Oceanic HR disappear- did I imagine it?
