OMG, what an episode. Not sure what to think, and can't wait to get home and watch in HD. Maybe I can get some information on the door that was hiding back there.
And, I want to know what Smokey is! I know that Ben knows, but I want to know.
Is Widmore a decendant of Hanso? Is that why he feels the island is his?
Too many questions, not enough episodes left this season.

What rules did Widmore change?
Since we know that Ben "recruited" Sayid in October 2005, it is a pretty safe bet that Sayid's flashback is further in the future. The question is, is Ben going after everyone from Widmore corporation that knows about the island, or everyone keeping him from finding Penny?
As to Penny and Desmond, since Sayid makes it back to the mainland, is it safe to assume that Desmond also returns to the real world? If so, do he and Penny get married and go into hiding?
And, I definately was one of the first to call that the shooters were the merc's from the ship. That is why the heli was gone.

And finally, Happy Zuday everyone.

Happy Zuday to all. What a night!
As a long time lurker, I know the reference has been made before, but last night was obvious. Benjy and Widmore are playing Risk. Even Hurley said that Australia was the key. Benjy blasted Widmore for changing the rules. Can anyone find a pic of the board? I bet the "island" is somewhere on it as a compass or symbol. Anyone?

OK. I did find a pic of the board. There are colonial soldiers guarding the pacific ocean. Curious. Please someone tell me if I am going the wrong way.

KatieGirl0672,
Never played Risk, so not sure. Think my kids have it though, so I will check.
I am still wondering about the 3.2 million reference. There must be some meaning.
Wish the Smokey scene was a little brighter as detail is hard for me to see.
Never in a million years (or 32) did I think they would kill off Alex.
Benjamin Linus, Internation Man of Mystery...
Leighsa, great to see you back again!

Really love this show, and all of the things around it. Still, I'm not a big fan of the time travel thing. I love sci-fi, at least enough to recognize keamy from SG-1, but it just isn't happening for me here. I was ok with smokey, I was ok with sonic fences and navigating along particular headings...but the time travel thing just feels like its going too far.
I did like Ninja Ben -- what a hoot!

Gary,
I get the feeling from interviews that the Orchid station (and the casimier (sp?) effect will explain.
Last nights episode was OK the first time I saw (with family interuptions), really good the second through fourth time, and awsome the fifth and sixth (yes I am a geek).

okay so new theory, i have a feeling im mot sure, but it hit me when widmore said "everthing youve ever had youve taken from me" to benry, is it possible alex was widmores daughther, ive had a long standing suspicion that Alex's biological father is someone important
oh and also funnily enough it just hit me like last night that locke isint one of the 6, i wonder what happens to him

So who else here thinks Widmore could be Ben's constant? o.O That could be why Ben said "You know I can't kill you." Also, someone else said Ben could ALSO be Widmore's constant. Freaky eyed people time- and consciousness-jumping all over the place!!! EXCITEMENT!!!

Well, sounds like a challenge, JNL -- Ill look forward to watching 5 or 6 more times!
Hmmm. If they are each others constant, that would imply a close relationship once-upon-a-time.....

I'm calling it right here.
Ben didn't 'teleport' from the island...he came from somewhere cold, probably the Arctic.
That explains the parka, the shivering and the steam that rolls off his body when he arrives in the Sahara.
Cheers

Okay..I say that Jack isn't just sick, like in the usual sense of catching something...Jack is sick because someone made him sick, and I've got my thoughts narrowed down to three people...Sun, Kate, Juliet.

Neither ben nor widmore can kill each other. Ben expressly states he cannot kill Widmore. Widmore makes no attempt to kill Ben while he is in his bed room nor by ordering his mercenaries to kill him when they arrive on the island. In fact they have express orders to keep him alive.

Nicole,
I'm guessing appendicitis or gall stones.
Widmore's statement that the island is his, always was, and will be again make me think he comes from the island somehow...or is a decendent of the original islanders royal family type dealio.
